INSTRUCTORS

Meet Oxygen Art for Kids Instructors!

Krista Lynch is a qualified teacher with a BA in Art and Drama. Throughout the years she has taught art classes to students of a wide range of ages in many different countries including New Zealand, Brazil, India, and Nelson. She has found that art is an excellent tool for crossing cultural boundaries. She believes that art is the best tool for bringing ideas to light, and feels strongly about exposing children to artistic practice from an early age.

Charlotte Erlandsson is a visual artist from Sweden. She has a BFA with a major in visual art from Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. Her mediums are painting, photography, creative writing and book media. These are the mediums she likes to work with in her art classes. She likes to work with the creative flow and use art as a way of storytelling. Charlotte recently finished a mixed media project with the Winlaw elementary school, where the students made their own books filled with their art in different mediums, including photos taken with a 35 mm camera. Last summer she taught classes through the eco society at Kokanee creek park. She has also taught photography and creative writing in Sweden. Charlotte is really excited to teach again with Oxygen this upcoming art camp.

Hi everyone! My name is Anita and I love art. I especially love making art with other people and learning about artists from past and present. One of my favorite artists is Chuck Stake. He brought artist trading cards to Canada - one of my favorite things to do with a group of young artists and others.

Jessica Demers, BFA, B.EDHello young artists! I love to make art of all kinds, but my favourite thing is creating sculpture out of materials that I find and collect. It's like being an inventor, scientist and artist all at the same time...fun! Making art with groups of young people is the best, because I am always surprised by what they create when they try new things.
